Tromso to Kirkeness

Dee left Tromso on the Nordnorge Hurtigruten coastal ferry, heading north. Here are a few pictures of the cabin and some of the other facilities. It is not a fancy cruise ship, but it is spacious, clean and pleasant and has everything you need for a good voyage.

As we headed north the weather got a lot colder and the scenery very rugged. The villages were small and remote. This is the countryside for tough people.

We passed around the very top of Norway and then sailed south east to Kirkeness, on the Russian border. We are now further west than Istanbul ! We took a very interesting tour of Kirkeness then back on the ship to set off back to Tromso where we left the boat.
