This is a quick overview, if you would like some deeper information go here.
This was our first visit to Kruger, we made many mistakes, mostly from ignorance, but the most important thing we learnt was – three days is not long enough !
We entered Kruger at the Phalaborwa gate and travelled to Skukuza for our first nights accommodation in a very comfortable ‘safari tent’
The next day we packed up and took a long game drive to Letaba Camp. The following night was spent at Satara Camp. Very quickly we learnt that this was not the best way to see the park – a new camp every night, too much packing.
Giraffs are really big when they are in the road in front of the car!
We stopped for lunch at Olifants Camp and ate our picnic lunch at the lookout – decided there and then that it would be a great place to come back to. (see RSA 2004)
We also realised that three days was not enough, so in 2002 we spent 5 days, but ……….
There is no review of this trip, it was so long ago and mostly irrelevant other than a stepping stone to more adventures.
