Our hostel was on Skeppsholme Island, in the middle of Stockholm ( from a tourist perspective)
After settling into the hostel and a snack we set off to walk around our island. First we passed the bike hire place, during the day it is often empty, the service is well used and you do not have to take the bike back to where you hired it, nor do you need to wear a helmet.
We passed an area of old boats and and what I think is an old crane. People live on the boats and here are their postboxes.
As we walked around the island the scenery changed when we reached the other side.
Views across the water to the old part of Stockholm and lots of boats. The cruise ships are moored across the water, on the second day there were 5 tied up in the morning.
This boat, the Af Chapman is part of the hostel. Aby tried to make friends with some of the ducks…. and we wondered about the need to chain the tree to a big rock.
