Sailing north from Trondheim

We had delightful weather as we sailed north. Here are a collection of pictures as we went along.

I can see why the Norwegians make such good sailors and navigators if this the scenery that they learn to sail though.  Some of the islands are below the water, some peak through and some are large and all close !  Occasional lighthouses and many radio beacons.

We regularly passed other Hurtigruten ships – much hooting and picture taking.

I was amazed at the large number of very lonely houses that we saw – far away from so much.

We crossed the arctic circle – we have just completed a journey crossing the equator, the tropics of cancer and Capricorn, and now the arctic circle.

We arrived in Tromso where we left the ship and walked up the hill to our hotel.
