Next off to the station to buy a tickets and travel to Randazzo. Amassing rattly and bumpy old railcar. Drove through farmland, olives, grapes, broad beans and more. Also through lava fields of different ages. All the time regular views of Mt Etna.
At Randozzo we got off and wandered into town. Admired the Norman Church Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta made out of basalt and white rock, increasing number of windows with height. Roads paved with basalt pavers 12” square.
Had a gelato and a gelato in a bun. Then wine and a lovely tasting bowl with olives, cheese biscotto and assorted meat.
