After a pretty horrid flight we arrived in Copenhagen at a horrid time of the morning – before 7.00am on a Sunday morning. We were surprised how quickly we got through the system and out there door compared to Australia and NZ. We bought our first European train ticket from a machine, and with a little help worked out which train to take and off we go northward. Before we had even settled we go into a tunnel under the sea – not good for my nerves, then we pop out onto a manmade island and take a super-duper bridge across the sea. The bridge is rail and road and quite new.
We then travelled northwards through Sweden to Goteborg (Gothenberg) As we zoomed through the countryside our observations were – its so flat, its sooo green, all those wind turbines and where can we get some food !
All ran smoothly, and eventually a trolley came along selling food. Coffee, tea, drinks and rolls. Lovely rolls made of a nice bread filled with good cheese, ham and some greenery. We found throughout the rest of the trip in the northern areas that very nice rolls could be bought.
Our hostel, more like a hotel, was conveniently located, we had a nice room on the first floor over looking the street.
It was still morning, so bags dropped and off to explore.
