Murren Village

Murren is small Swiss alpine village perched on the lip of a ‘U’ shaped valley.  In winter it is a popular ski base while in summer popular with hikers.  These are some general pictures taken as we walked around the village.  There are only a few hotels, our hostel, a sports centre, a couple of shops and restaurants.  Most residents are small time farmers or involved in the tourist industry.

We did not see any cars in Murren, maybe there are none.  It is very pleasant for walking and the residents make use of the long summer days to grow vegetables and colourful flowers in their gardens.  We enjoyed walking and looking at all the gardens.

I am not sure if these flowers are native to the area, or they are selected to grow in the peoples local gardens because they do so well.

Some are meadow flowers but unsure of the others
