After a breakfast and coffee in town, we set off to the ‘Living Desert Park’ where we did a short walk looking at the local vegetation, rocks and views.
A late lunch on top of a mine dump
The town of Broken Hill started as a mining town and still is, but on a lower key. The old mine dump sits on the edge of town, large and black, BUT there is a road up past the old workings, a café, information and amassing views.
In addition there is an interesting memorial to all the ‘fallen’ miners from the start of the mine to present.
