We went under all sorts of bridges, some with interesting names like ‘cheese slicer’ We learnt about the buildings and the history.
Goteborg is a maritime city and has a long history of trade and shipping. Many of the buildings are built along the canals to use the waterways for transport. Our guide took us out into the harbour where we saw more modern buildings and more modern ships. It is an important port for Sweden being on the west side of the country.
