We traveled south from Etosha to Outjo then West to the Otjitotongnwe Cheetah Farm. Here cheetahs that are captured on farms when harassing animals are held until they are relocated to safer areas.
In the hot part of the afternoon we swam and appreciated the fine surroundings.
Then we went up to the house and heard about the work the farm does and met some of the hand reared cheetahs.
Then we were packed aboard the back of a bakkie (ute) together with a dustbin of meat, and headed out to the enclosures.
We left the Cheetah Farm and traveled west through Damaraland and over the Grootberg Pass to Palmwag. Palmwag is in the edge of the desert and considered the best place to view the desert elephants. [C23-009]
