  • Kunanarra

The town of Kunanarra is on the massive Ord River Irrigation Scheme

    Visited a Sandle Wood Farm

A Zebra Stone factory and galery

Then spent some time at the Ivanhoe Crossingh followed by a drive to Maple Downs our camp near the Bungles

    Overland

Off through different slightly rolling country

Next – Camp at Marble Downs

  • Manning River Camp

Next stop – The Camp on the Manning River. Very pleasant but also a big rip off. Pay a lot but only about 6 toilets and 6 showers and when the camp is full, there can be 600 people. We were at the end of the season so pleasant (except for the toilets),

We spent two nights here. During the day part of the group took a walk to another part of the Manning River. This started with a river crossing

The rest of the group rested and enjoyed a swim in camps,

In the afternoon we drove to Galverns Gorge and took an interesting walk to the falls and pool.

Next – we are off to El Questo

  • Stop Bell River Gorge

Part way through our drive we stopped at Bell River Gorge for a swim and relax. The more adventurous took a climber down to the lower pool.

    Next on to Manning Gorge

  • Broome to Windjana Gorge

We were picked up early in the morning for our 14 day tour of the Kimberley Region on NW Australia. This is a harsh, sparsely populated area with weather extremes. Hot wet summers nd hot fry winters. Tourism only happens in winter as the river flood in summer and it is too hot

    .

After arriving at camp and settin up we drove to Tunnel creak to go through a rock chasm and back., Squeezing, walking and paddling.

    , ,..

Next back close to camp to take the path to Windjana Gorge. Squeeze through a gap then into a wide area….

  • Broome Town

Broome is a weird place, so touristy for part of the year and so industrial for the rest of the year – harsh weather.

Next we take a tour of the Kimberly, first Broome to Windjana Gorge
