Here you are – another travelogue to entertain you/bore you/inspire you / …….
We took a Singapore airlines flight from Sydney to Singapore. We have not travelled with this airline for about 20 years and felt that they did not live up to their reputation. Aby and Dee, although booked together, where allocated seats in different rows. And without a single free seat on the plane this could not be fixed. Eventually we made a plan with another couple who had been separated as well. The food was good and the hostesses pleasant. I have even included a picture of the meal – this is a lunch. On later Singapore airlines flights the meals were well below expected standard.
.
We had booked a Singapore Airline Stopover Package – For $4. That is four dollars. For this we got a transfer to the hotel, hotel room for the night and entrance to a few activities and a ticket for the Hop-on-bus. This was a promotional offer, but even when not a promotion still pretty good value at $90 for two people.
We arrive at Changi Airport, all clean and shiny, picked up our passes and got delivered to our hotel. Aby’s very accurate description of Singapore once you are out of the air-conditioned building is that it is CHEWEY. So hot, so humid and so many smells.
Hotel V Lavender is modern and compact. On the forth floor there is a swimming pool and the water was soooo cold we thought it may have been chilled !
We spent the day exploring Singapore (see here) then in the evening transferred to the airport. for our flight to Copenhagen.
After a pretty horrid flight we arrived in Copenhagen at a horrid time of the morning – before 7.00am, on a Sunday morning. We were surprised how quickly we got through the system and out there door compared to Australia and NZ.
