If one goes to Venice one should take a gondola ride once in your life – but they are rather expensive. After a spot of research I found ‘Row Venice’ A team of girls have set up a gondola rowing school using training boats which are similar, but wider, flatter and more stable.
A great experienced. The teaching was serious, once we got the grips of the rowing, we went out into the quiet canals and had a great time. Girls are not allowed to become gondoliers so I feel this sort of enterprise should be well supported !
