Started well, arrived on time for the bus to Lithgow. Full, unusual. At Lithgow found out that rail was being replaced by bus, so 2 trains and 2 busses did not make for a relaxing trip. Ground floor room at the Ibis budget and dinner with cocktails with K. Central station had a bit of a redo, looking smart and dull.
Moderately good night. Woke to a lovely clear morning. Flight at 11am, so caught the 7am shuttle, only international passengers so quite quick. Wandered the airport as one does, check in fine, no issues with overweight bag. Got a $200 tax refund for the camera. Then after an over-priced coffee and a roll had a comfy relax.
Flight was loaded quickly – impressive, no dawdlers and the doors closed, left on time. I had an extra leg room seat and no one next to me. Very good for junk storage. Food was unimpressive except for the ice-cream. Very smooth flight saw Lake Eyre, so much dessert, so much nothing. No call for seatbelts in 8hrs. Straight into Singapore with no circling. No queue with auto check in a border control.
By now was too tired to battle the trains so got a taxi.
D’Nova hotel – pleasant, tiny and a little ‘cheap’. Toilet in room which I don’t like. Great bed, great aircon, quiet. Went for a walk around the block and bought triangular snacks from the corner shop.
