Gardens in the Bay

After visiting the Jarong Bird Park and lunch we hopped onto the next bus to the ‘Gardens in the Bay’. We walked through the Marina Sands Hotel, the one with the surfboard on the roof, and into the gardens.  First stop was the Super Tree Grove.  To me – symbolic of Singapore, big, glitzy, fascinating and artificial.  We could not go up the trees because of the recent thunderstorm.

We got tickets to the enormous cooled glass house and did the loop walk around.  Amazing construction and stunningly artificial.  Endless people.

It is a great and enormous place to wander around. There is no entrance fee to wander, and many attractions are free. You pay to go into the gigantic glass houses, each with a different theme.

  • Fascinating
  • Free to walk through
  • Terrible crowds
  • Pay for some attractions
