After our visit to Jurong Bird Park we got a taxi to the Botanic Gardens. We walked through to get the yellow hop-on bus on the other side. We got off at Suntec City hoping to find a pastry café we so enjoyed last visit – oh no – gone. So upstairs and after a mug of bubble tea sat down at a Korean restaurant.
We hopped on to the next bus to the ‘Gardens in the Bay’ Walked through the Marina Sands Hotel, the one with the surfboard on the roof, and into the gardens. First stop was the Super Tree Grove. To me – symbolic of Singapore, big, glitzy, fascinating and artificial. We could not go up the trees because of the thunderstorm.
By now we were exhausted, so back to the bus stop through the Marina Sands Hotel and back the Grand Pacific Hotel.
