Roman and modern Lyon

Lyon is a very old city, pre-Roman.  We walk through the Roman ruins, free, on our way back to the funicular and down into the old town.

In contrast we took a modern tram to the confluence of the Rhone and Soame rivers where all the modern buildings are happening – remember the green and orange ones ?

The bridge is for trams, bikes and walking – rather pleasant.  The shiney building is a rather strange museum.  Interesting, but not my scene –  the building that is.  I went up to high to the cafe and had a fantastic view.

We walked to the actual confluence and dipped toes in both of the rivers.

Next – Another trip to Fourviere Basilica
